  1. The personal stories touched deep chords of memory and experience... Review by Betty Radford Turcott

While this book was easy to read it was not always comfortable. But a note of hope and the possibility for change sounded in every reflection. The personal stories touched deep chords of memory and experience as I read and absorbed the struggles and the passion of the writers. Their words evoked serious thought, and called me to prayer and action.

Reading the stories, prayers, and scripture, and wrestling with the questions has challenged and enriched my journey of faith. (Posted on 2014-12-10)

  2. Longing for Home guides us in a meditative walk that connects our daily life to profound spiritual questions. Review by David G. Hallman

It’s Ash Wednesday. I’m in Mexico. In a small Catholic Church, a parish elder inscribes a cross in ashes on my forehead and whispers a blessing. Later,
wandering around town, I receive quiet smiles from locals. I smile back. We are family.

Longing for Home guides us in a meditative walk that connects our daily life to profound spiritual questions. Biblical reflections are grounded in familiar
personal dilemmas and systemic justice and ecological challenges.

Longing for Home reaffirms that we are not alone in our Lenten reflections. We are part of God’s whole family of life. (Posted on 2014-12-10)

Poignancy. Clarity. Authenticity. These are the gifts each writer brings to Longing for Home. The Spirit works through these personal vignettes, inviting the reader to journey back into their own memories while travelling with a God who guides. Pondering and praying give us moments to rest and reflect. The study guide invites conversation and community building.

Longing for Home is an intimate sojourn which leads us closer to the Holy and to one another during Lent. It is a gift. (Posted on 2014-12-10)

  4. The contributors to Longing for Home are people of heart, who found their home in struggles of justice and hope... Review by Jennifer Henry

They say that home is where your heart is. It strikes me that the contributors to Longing for Home are people of heart, who found their home in struggles of justice and hope, whether they be here in Canada or as far as the occupied Palestinian territories. This Lenten resource will invite you to open your heart, so that others’ needs - God’s dreams of justice and peace - might continue to make their home there. May the words stir us to reflection and renewed faithful action. (Posted on 2014-12-10)
